World Physiotherapy Day Celebration at GPTC

Government Physiotherapy college, Jamnagar celebrated World Physiotherapy Day with a Focus on Preventing Falls and Frailty

On September 8, 2025, Government Physiotherapy college [GPTC], Jamnagar proudly joined the global community in celebrating World Physiotherapy Day. The annual event, which honours the founding of World Physiotherapy in 1951, serves as a platform to highlight the vital role of physiotherapists in improving global health. This year’s theme, “Healthy aging, with a focus on preventing falls and frailty,” provided a timely opportunity to showcase how physiotherapy helps people stay active, independent, and safe as they grow older.

Our campus came alive with different activities designed to examine and educate the public. The day’s events included:

Free Health Screenings: Under the supervision of our experienced faculty & students conducted free health screenings for mobility and fall risk assessment. This provided a valuable service to the community and gave our students practical experience in patient-centred care.

Our distinguished students delivered insightful talks on the practical applications of physiotherapy in promoting healthy aging. The sessions covered topics such as “The Role of Exercise in healthy aging” and “prevention of fall”

The event was a testament to the dedication and hard work of our physiotherapy students. They were instrumental in organizing the activities, guiding participants, and spreading awareness about the profession.

The World Physiotherapy Day 2025 celebration at GPTC Jamnagar was a resounding success, attracting a diverse audience and fostering a greater understanding of the profession’s contributions. We thank all who attended and participated, and we look forward to continuing our mission to promote health and wellness in our community.
