In alignment with the Gujarat State Government’s “Seva Sankalp Abhiyan” and the “Marg Suraksha Jagruti Abhiyan” (Road Safety Awareness Campaign), Government Physiotherapy College, Jamnagar, successfully organized a comprehensive “First Responder” training program on September 24, 2026.
Road traffic accidents require immediate and effective intervention. Recognizing this critical need, the training was conducted to equip our physiotherapy students with life-saving skills. We were privileged to host the expert medical team from the Anaesthesia Department of Guru Gobind Singh (G.G.) Hospital, who led an intensive hands-on CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) and First Response training session.
Key Highlights of the Training:
- Emergency Response: Students were educated on the critical steps to take immediately following a road accident to stabilize victims.
- Hands-on CPR: The G.G. Hospital Anaesthesia team provided practical demonstrations and guided practice on administering CPR effectively.
- System Navigation: Detailed instructions were given on the rapid mobilization of 108 Ambulance services and the protocols for referring victims to the nearest appropriate health centers.
This initiative reinforces our commitment to integrating practical, life-saving medical skills into physiotherapy education, ensuring that our students are not only excellent clinicians but also capable first responders in times of crisis.
